We recently attended the official unveiling of the new NIAA headquarters in Port Augusta. The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) collaborates authentically to empower the self-governance and dreams of First Nations communities. Their efforts drive transformation throughout government to guarantee that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have a voice in decisions impacting them.
The inauguration of the new office included a smoking ceremony followed by a BBQ and was presided over by CEO Jody Broun, a Yinjibarndi woman from the Pilbara region in Western Australia, who assumed her role in February 2022.
The NIAA offers a wide range of services and resources, all of which you can read about on their website: https://www.niaa.gov.au/news-centre
